Barbara Baine grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. She
has lived in Clarksdale, Mississippi with her husband
and children for the last 30 years. Baine graduated
from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.
She has been interested in art all of her life.
Her main focus is nature in all of its many facets.
Baine’s style ranges from impressionistic to abstract.
She strives to evoke an emotion from the viewer through
subject matter, design, and color. Baine works
in acrylics, water color, and mixed media. Baine
has taken classes at Tulane, The Memphis Academy of
Art and Delta State University. She has studied
under such well known artist as Sammy Britt, Anne Barron,
Jake Wagnon, Pat Odom, and Chen Khee Chee. Her
paintings hang in many fine homes throughout the South.
